How to Stop Vape Juice Leaks - Our Guide

For those who want to quit smoking, vaping is one of the solutions they find more suitable. However, there are so many mistakes that a lot of people make when they first start vaping. New vapers may accidentally burn their throats or take dry hits, while others forget to charge the batteries. These simple mistakes can be easily remedied, so knowing about these mistakes can help you avoid them from happening.

One other common mistake that vapers face is vape juice leaks or e-juice going inside the mouth. This is not as simple as any other issue vapers encounter since it can be difficult to detect the source of the problem.

Ideally, you would want vape juice from your e-cigarette to your mouth. However, vape juice is meant to be inhaled in vapour form, not as a liquid. Swallowing vape juices carries its own risks and can lead to harsh drags or your coil burning beyond repair.

Whether you are a newbie or an experienced vaper, it is never pleasant to have your e-cigarette suddenly start spitting back e-juice into your mouth. The key to fixing this issue is knowing what is causing the problem in the first place.

Here are some ways on how to stop e-juice from coming directly to your mouth, or also known as a spit-back:

1. Check for possible leaks on your e-cigarette

An e-cigarette leak is one of the most common issues vapers encounter, and there are various reasons it happens. You may have a damaged or missing O-rings inside. Maybe you have tightened the tank too much. In some cases, low-quality e-juices can also be the reason for your e-cigarette leaking.

Whatever the reason is, a leaky e-cigarette poses a lot of problems. It can turn your vaping into an unpleasant experience since you will have to worry about e-juice leaking everywhere or worse, it can damage your device. If you are not too careful, it can also send e-juices squirting into your mouth. Fixing the leaks early on can help prevent any complex problems down the line.

2. Do not overprime the coil

When you have a new coil, it is a common practice to prime it. It is the practice of putting a few drops of the e-juice directly into the centre of the new coil. This is ideal since it helps to saturate the wick much more thoroughly and quickly and keeps the coil from dry burning. However, there is a risk of putting too much e-juice.

The best solution is to make sure that you only put a sufficient amount of e-juice to the coil. Watch the wicking material through the holes and add one drop at a time slowly. Once you notice that the cotton has started to darken, then you will know that it is already primed and ready for vaping.

3. Avoid using the wrong kind of e-juice

Knowing what kind of e-juice to choose is a fundamentally crucial decision not only for flavour preference but also for vape compatibility. Keep in mind that low-quality e-juices can sometimes cause leaks or spit-backs. E-juices that have higher levels of propylene glycol or PG can also have the same effect. They are much thinner and soak in more quickly compared to e-juices with higher levels of vegetable glycerin or VG, which means that your coil may take on more liquid, causing the juice to spit-back.

There are more reasons and ways to fix this issue. However, if sucking e-juice has been a constant problem and becoming more annoying than normal, you might want to have your device checked. If you are looking for new vape accessories, visit our vape shop in London today! We’re happy to help.
